L'Ora della Terra - Earth Hour 2009: un gesto semplice...

Il 28 marzo, dalle 20,30 alle 21,30, sarà l’Ora della Terra – Earth Hour, iniziativa del WWF che, per il 2009, continua il suo impegno nella Campagna Generazione Clima per sensibilizzare imprese, istituzioni e cittadini nella lotta ai cambiamenti climatici.

Sul Canale di You Tube il video, sullo sfondo di un nero cielo stellato, è stato visto oltre 380.000 volte: racconta l'iniziativa, partita da Sidney nel 2007, e diventata, nel 2008, evento mondiale.

L'iniziativa mirava quest'anno a coinvolgere più di 1000 città: ad oggi oltre 2.800 città nel mondo hanno aderito, tra cui 100 italiane. Per un'ora spegneranno le luci la Torre di Pisa, la Reggia di Caserta, l’Arena di Verona, il Castello Sforzesco a Milano, la Cupola di San Pietro a Roma, il Ponte di Rialto a Venezia, l’Acquario di Genova, e moltissimi palazzi e piazze di Comuni che hanno aderito. Si spegneranno nel mondo la Tour Eiffel, le Cascate del Niagara, le piccole isole Chatham nel Pacifico e il più alto grattacielo, il Taipei 101 in Cina.

Sono stati pubblicati video di adesione da molte persone, tra cui Alanis Morissette, Daniel Herrero, Francesco Totti, Camila Raznovich; molte personalità, e tantissime persone normali, hanno dato la loro adesione all'iniziativa.

On March 28, from 8.30 p.m. to 9.30 p.m., will be Earth Hour.
Earth Hour is an initiative of the WWF: in 2009 the WWF continues its appointment in the Country Generation Climate to sensitize enterprises, institutions and citizens in the struggle to climate changes.
On You Tube Channel you can watch the video, on a black starry sky: it has been seen over 380.000 times. The initiative started in Sidney in 2007 and in 2008 became a worldwide event.
The initiative aimed to involve in 2009 more than 1000 cities: by now over 2.800 cities in the world have joined, among which 100 are Italian . The Tower of Pisa, the Royal Palace of Caserta, the Verona Arena, the Sforzesco Castle in Milan, the St. Peter’s Dome in Rome, the Rialto Bridge in Venice, the Genoa’s Aquarius and a lot of buildings and plazas of City Halls will turn off the lights for an hour. In the world the Eiffel Tower, the Niagara Falls, the small Chatham Islands in the Pacific and the highest skyscraper, the Taipei 101 in China will go out.
Videos of adhesion have been published by many people, among which Alanis Morissette, Daniel Herrero, Francesco Totti, Camila Raznovich; both VIP and ordinary people have given their support to this initiative.

> Spegni anche gli stand by degli apparecchi elettronici
> Scegli le lampadine a basso consumo
> Diminuisci le tue emissioni programmando il riscaldamento a 18-20 °C
> Regola il termostato del frigorifero a temperature non inferiori a 6°C e il congelatore a – 18°C
> Per i tuoi spostamenti usa preferibilmente i mezzi pubblici.

Do your part:
> Save energy by turning off the lights where they are not necessary
> Turn off the stand by function of electronic instruments
> Choose bulbs at low consumption
> Decrease your emissions by programming heating at 18-20 °C
> Adjust the thermostat of the refrigerator at temperatures not lower than 6°C and the freezer at _18°C
> For your trips use preferably public transportation
